With all seats up, the 2025 Buick Regal has 31.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Dropping the split-folding rear seats expands total capacity to 60.7 cubic feet. The Regal TourX gives you more capacity at 32.7 cubic feet with all seats up and 73.5 cubic feet with the rear folded.

The 2025 Regal features Buick’s latest infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and four USB ports. Base models also come with a 3.5-inch instrument cluster display and a seven-speaker audio system.

Engine and Performance

A 2.0-liter turbo-four engine producing 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque (295 lb-ft in AWD-equipped models) powers the 2025 Buick Regal. Regal models with front-wheel drive and a standard nine-speed automatic transmission have an EPA rating of 22/32 mpg city/highway. The Regal TourX comes standard with AWD, which lowers the EPA ratings to 21/29 mpg and gives you an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Want more power? The Buick Regal GS, which has AWD standard, gets a 3.6-liter V-6 with 310 hp and 282 lb-ft. EPA ratings are 19/27 mpg with its nine-speed automatic.Most Regals will come equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four paired with a nine-speed automatic turning the front wheels. (AWD models with the 2.0-liter use an eight-speed auto.)

Depending on the drive type and body type, four-cylinder Regals are rated at 21-22/29-32 mpg city/highway. If you prefer more cylinders under the hood, ask for a Regal GS. With the back seats folded down, the cargo space increases to 60.7 cubic feet, whereas when the seats are folded, it increases to 31.5 cubic feet in both versions. If you require additional room, the Regal TourX wagon can accommodate 32.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are split-folded and 73.5 cubic feet when they are folded.

In IIHS testing, the 2025 Buick Regal received a Good rating on the side impact moderate front overlap and driver’s side small front overlap tests (Good is the highest score). Looking for more safety tech? You’ll need to move up to at least the Essence trim to get the Driver Confidence package II, which adds adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.

The Regal hasn’t been fully evaluated by the IIHS, but it received the highest possible ratings in the three crashworthiness tests in which it participated. The mechanically identical Opel Insignia, however, earned a five-star overall safety rating from Euro NCAP.

Higher trim levels include some active safety tech like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The 2025 Buick Regal Sedan receives a handful of changes for its second model year. Remote start and rear parking sensors are now standard, and the engine gains E85 flex-fuel capability. The subcompact Regal Sedan continues as Buick’s most affordable model. The Regal Sedan comes in three trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir.
